Congratulations are in order for Mike Grosso, whose debut, I AM DRUMS, is an Illinois Reads selection for 2017!

I AM DRUMS is a contemporary middle grade novel that tells the story of twelve-year-old Sam, whose dreams of becoming a drummer come up against hard economic realities. This is the first state award for the book, and we hope it will be the first of many.
