Richardson is a truly talented writer that pulls me into the story. Each of the characters is unique and fun. Some of my favorites from Greywalker are back... Of course, when a story involved poltergeist and unexplained phenomena, the story is going to be suspenseful. But I think I would have enjoyed this book even if it just revolved around the character interaction. Richardson's supernatural concepts have a science fiction edge to them, and her strong sense of place and fondness for historical research guarantee that her book will appeal to a wider audience than straight horror buffs. After all, Poltergeist is smart, action-packed, fast-paced, and one hell of a ghost story. What's not to like?
